Autumn's Concerto is a taiwanese drama about two lovers who share a common song which has a significant impact on their past life, "Air on the G String" by Johann Sebastian Bach. 

Liang Mu Chen tells Ren Guang Xi the story of the song's origin. "Did you know one time when Bach was expected to perform, someone tampered with his cello? All of the strings were cut except for G-string. When everyone was waiting to see him fail, he composed a tune on the spot, using only the G-string. That tune became the famous Air on the G-String."

Ren Guang Xi is a conceited, snobby, rich boy who gets his way with everything. His only weakness that he is emotionally troubled by the death of his father when he was a young child.  Guang Xi is a rebel and does whatever he wants to get attention. He hates his mother because he blames her for his father's death and for not being a mother figure.  The only male figure in his life is the family lawyer, who helps him get out of legal trouble with the law. The only thing that gives Guang Xi peace is a song "Air on the G String" that his father used to play for him when he was young.

Liang Mu Chen is a sweet, hard working, kind-hearted girl.  Her mother left her when she was a small child.  Mu Chen loves playing the piano.  She was raised by her father and step mother until her father was killed in a car accident when she was young.  Her step mother later moved in with a new boyfriend, Ah Cai, and they both raised Mu Chen until she became an adult.  However, uncle Ah Cai always makes Mu Chen feel uncomfortable with his sexual harassments.

Guang Xi and Mu Chen share a common background that they both lost their fathers when they were young.  Guang Xi grows up to be bitter and angry at the world.  Mu Chen, despite all the hardships she had to endure, strives to do her best in order to survive.

Fate draws Mu Chen and Guang Xi together.  Their first encounter happens when Mu Chen's bus is stopped by Guang Xi's car.  Mu Chen was in a hurry to go home and prepare fish for an important meal.  Mu Chen confronts Guang Xi to remove his car.  Guang Xi tells Mu Chen that the only way he'll remove his car is if she drives it out of the way. Mu Chen takes his instructions but she reverses the car and it hits the bus.  They both are detained by the police.  Guang Xi is a rebel, so this is just another act for him to rebel against his mother.  He knows he can get away with anything because his mother will cover it up so her image is not tarnished. Mu Chen loses a book at the police station. 

Mu Chen and Guang Xi meet again at Sheng De University.  Mu Chen works in the cafeteria serving food.  Guang Xi makes a bet with his friends that he can get a kiss from her within 24 hours.  Guang Xi forces Mu Chen on a date and uses the book as a bribe. He takes her to the ice skating rink.  Initially, Guang Xi intended to play with Mu Chen for fun and leisure, but as he gets to know her he realizes that she is a tender and caring person.  They become friends and Guang Xi learns that Mu Chen's uncle is sexually harassing her.

A horrible event happens where uncle Ah Cai attempts to rape Mu Chen. Guang Xi comes in right in time and beats up uncle Ah Cai.  Ai Cai lies to Mu Chen's aunt that Mu Chen is a slut and has been seducing him.  Mu Chen's aunt is so angry that she kicks Mu Chen out into the streets.  Having no where to go, Guang Xi finds Mu Chen a temporary place to stay.

A scandal breaks out and leads to a tribunal where it's Mu Chen vs uncle Ah Cai. Guang Xi decides to defend Mu Chen to clear her reputation and have Ah Cai put in jail. For the first time in Guang Xi's life, he wants to fight for justice.  He helps win the case for Mu Chen.

As Mu Chen and Guang Xi's relationship develops, Guang Xi's mother is determined to have him paired up with another girl, Yi Qian, who is the daughter of Dr. He.  Guang Xi has no interest in Yi Qian.

Guang Xi learns that he has a brain tumor. He is scared that he will hurt Mu Chen so he starts to distance himself from her.  Mu Chen is confused by his actions, but decides to stand by his side regardless.  While working, Mu Chen accidently falls into the water and Guang Xi comes to save her.  He later confesses that he was pushing her away because he's dying.  Mu Chen asserts that she still loves him no matter what the future holds for the both of them.  They spend an intimate night together and Guang Xi is determined that he wants to get surgery so that he can live to protect Mu Chen.

Mu Chen helps Guang Xi through the tests and treatments. However, Guang Xi's mother tells Mu Chen that she is not fit for her son and that after the surgery, Mu Chen must remove herself from Guang Xi's life.  Mu Chen hesitantly agrees because she loves Guang Xi and is willing to do anything to help him get treatment to get better.

After Mu Chen leaves Guang Xi, she learns that she is pregnant.

Six years later, Mu Chen is living in a small village with her son, Xiao Le and her best friend Tuo Ye. Guang Xi lost all his memories after his surgery.  He became engaged to Yi Qian, the pretty doctor and daughter of Dr. He.  After he hits one of his clients, he is sentenced to 240 hours of community service.  So he is sent to the small village and that is where he is reunited with Mu Chen, but he has no recollection of her.

Xiao Le is an exceptional child with a vibrant imagination.  He believes that his father is an alien and every day Xiao Le works on his transmitter and sends "Miss you, Miss You" messages across the sky and heavens, hoping that his daddy will receive them.  It is soooooOOoo cute, I sobbed so bad at the scenes where Xiao Le calls out for his father.  Xiao Le is the happiness in Mu Chen's life.  However, Xiao Le has Type 1 Diabetes and has to take medicine for the rest of his life. Xiao Le is a strong little man! He makes this drama shine!

Xiao Le is so cute because when he meets Guang Xi, it is exactly like his dream that his father would come down to earth in a "boo boo" (car) obstructing a bus. He immediately clings to Guang Xi's legs and calls him "daddy alien".  OMG....sobs ... I cried like a baby!  This kid is so damn cute!

So now the drama is at the part where Guang Xi is doing community service and helps out the villagers.  The villagers are fighting a battle with a large corporation who plans to take over their land to hide a secret.  Turns out, the corporation's byproducts are poisoning the land.

Will Guang Xi recollect his memories?  Will Mu Chen reveal her secret that Xiao Le is Guang Xi's son?  ---- haha you and I will both have to watch and find out.  The series is still airing in Taiwan~!
