Cain and Abel

Cain and Abel is a korean drama based on the biblical story of two brothers.  In this drama, Sun Woo (Cain) is a successful neurosurgeon.  Cho In (Abel) is also a doctor specializing in Emergency Care.  Cho In was adopted as a young child and has always been Sun Woo's father's favorite child.

The drama starts with Sun Woo returning from United States.  He is happy to be reunited with his family, however he learns that his childhood sweetheart, Seo Yoon is now dating his young brother, Cho In.  Sun Woo is saddened that in his absence, Seo Yoon gave her heart to another man.  Sun Woo also learns that his father plans to give the hospital to Cho In and build an Emergency Center.  Angered and jealous that Cho In has everything, Sun Woo and his mother plot to trick Cho In to go to China, and never return.

Cho In goes to China and meets Oh Young-Ji, a travel guide.  Young-Ji is paid to keep close watch on Cho In.  Young-Ji is a North Korean defector and works to save up money so that she can buy passports for her parents and brother to escape to South Korea.  As she follows Cho In around China, she develops a crush on him.  She later learns that her boss plans to kidnap Cho In, so she tries to help Cho In escape.

Cho In is captured, tortured, and left for dead in the desert.  Back in Seoul, Sun Woo and his mother make plans to takeover the hospital and build a Neurology Center.  

Cho In's fate leads him to be discovered by a group of North Korean military defectors.  He meets Oh Gang Chul who is Young-Ji's brother.   Cho In loses his memory from the trauma. Gang Chul becomes a big brother to Cho In. Gang Chul gives Cho In a new name, Oh Gang Ho, a name that belonged to his cousin who died during their escape from North Korea.

Young-Ji makes an escape to South Korea. Will she be reunited with Cho In? Will Cho In find his way back to Seoul and discover why his brother wants him dead?
