"More Beautiful Than a Flower" is a very heart wrenching story about Yong Ja and her life as a mother. She has three children, Mi-ok, Mi-soo, and Jae-soo.  Mi-ok is divorced and struggling to take care of her daughter.  Mi-soo is the most successful of Yong Ja's kids, but Mi-soo is a mistress and having an affair with a married man.  Jae-soo is a young teen who hasn't found yet what his direction in life is. 

Yong Ja's innocense and sincere heart will warm you.  She is a kind woman, but she faces so many challenges in her life.  She truly sacrifices herself so that her children can be happy and live a better life than the one she had.  She is disappointed when each child makes their own mistakes and misfortunes. Her children take advantage of her and never truly give her the love in return until it's almost too late.

Yong Ja's husband left her many years ago for a much, younger woman.  That woman becomes very ill and needs a kidney replacement.  To much surprise, Yong Ja's husband begs Yong Ja to do the unthinkable and give up her kidney to his mistress.  Yong Ja's life has been nothing but disappointment, heartache, and misery yet she lives on for the sake of her children's happiness.  All she hopes is to leave a mark in their lives as their mother. 

This drama is so beautiful.  It made me appreciate all the mothers out there in the world who struggle and sacrifice the last ounce of energy they have for the happiness of their children. 

Make sure you have plenty of tissue close by because this drama is a tearjerker.  It teaches you lessons about living and about the love of a mother.  I know I surely could not do the things that Yong Ja has done.

There was so many scenes in this drama that had me bawling my eyes out to the point that it was uncontrollable, I had to pause and take time out.  I was just so shocked that it hurt my heart to continue enduring a pain like that.  It makes me sad that there are many women out there in the world whom has never received any ounce of kindness, affection, or love from their husbands.  There is one scene that absolutely crushed my heart into a million pieces.  When you watch it, you will know exactly what I am referring to.  Ladies, maybe you or someone you know has experienced this in your life at some point.  This is the worst thing a man could ever say to a woman, the mother of his children.
